About Us

Persimmon Apps

A small team of engineers and fitness enthusiasts building tools for people who want to train smarter, build better habits, and optimize the things that matter.

Our Story

Persimmon Apps started as a group of friends from college. We studied mechanical engineering and software engineering, spent too much time in the campus gym, and shared an obsession with self-improvement — tracking workouts, optimizing routines, building habits, and generally trying to get a little better every day.

After graduating, we kept training and kept looking for tools that matched how we actually wanted to work out. We tried every gym tracker on the market. Some were too simple — just a glorified notepad. Others were bloated with features we didn't need and missing the ones we did. None of them had the kind of intelligent analysis we wanted: real progressive overload tracking, muscle group balance metrics, and coaching that actually understood our training history.

So we built our own.

Hercules started as a side project — something we built for ourselves and our friends. It turned into something much bigger when we realized that the problems we were solving weren't unique to us. Every serious lifter we talked to had the same frustrations with existing apps.

Today, Persimmon Apps is still a small team. We're still training, still iterating, and still building the tools we wish existed. Hercules is our first product. It won't be our last.

What We Believe

Data-Driven

We believe that tracking is the foundation of improvement. If you can measure it, you can improve it. Every app we build is designed to turn raw data into actionable insight.

No Fluff

We don't add features for the sake of it. Every screen, every metric, every interaction has to earn its place. If it doesn't make the user better, it doesn't ship.

Built for Ourselves

We use everything we build. Hercules exists because we couldn't find a gym tracker that did what we needed. That frustration is the best product requirement we've ever had.

Continuous Improvement

The same principle that drives progressive overload in the gym drives how we build software. Small, consistent improvements compound into something significant over time.

What's Next

We're building a suite of apps for people who take self-improvement seriously — not just fitness, but habits, productivity, and the daily systems that compound into real results over time.

Kairos, our habit tracker, is currently in development. Beyond that, we have more ideas in the pipeline — all focused on the same core principle: give people the data and tools they need to get better at the things they care about.

If that sounds like something you're into, download Hercules and follow along. We're just getting started.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who makes Hercules?

Hercules is built by Persimmon Apps, a small team of engineers and fitness enthusiasts who met in college studying mechanical and software engineering.

Why was Hercules created?

The team tried every gym tracker on the market and found them either too simple or too bloated. None offered intelligent progressive overload tracking, muscle group balance metrics, or AI coaching that understood real training history — so they built their own.

What other apps does Persimmon Apps make?

Persimmon Apps is currently focused on Hercules, the AI-powered gym tracker for Android. Kairos, a habit tracking app, is in early development.
